Second Girls Gymnastics Meet 2008
Well Christen's second girls gymnastics meet was this past Saturday (April 5, 2008). It was a lot of fun but there were some disappoinments. The gym was sort of small compared to one the previous week and in fact was smaller than even the gymnastics center were Christen trains. The whole setup was awkward and the seating didn't allow good views of the event centers. Also, a lot of parents (and a couple of the trainers) were upset at what seemed to very haphazard judging and even what seemed to be favoritism towards the hosting gym's team. All-in-all I think Christen did well especially on her tumbling routine. I think her instructor decreased the difficulty of her balance beam routine but increased it on her parallel bars routine.
Below is a video of Christen's second meet. You can be the judge about how well she did. Just remember that she is still only 5 1/2 years old and only allowed to participate at the gymnastics "skills" level.
